Why Is Equity Lifestyle Properties Leaving its 55+ communities behind ?

I live in a 55+ mobil home community owned by Equity Lifestyle Properties, well at least I thought I did. Before I moved here to Largo Florida into one of MHvillge managed properties I sent about 14 emails back and forth with the mobil home parks office manager and asked several times and she assured me it was a 55+ community. I purchased my home and started packing. When I arrived at my new retirement home I noticed the front sign said age qualified but the brochure they sent me had a different sign and said 55+. I noticed that there were young residents much younger than 55 and some teenagers as well so I went to office and asked again and this time after I already purchased a home in what I was told was a 55+ community I was told that by law they have to let 20% of people in that are exempt from the 55+ qualification. And then Equity Lifestyle Properties office manager said that the other 80% was age qualified meaning they will let residents in that are as young as 40. Im not one to judge people by their age because I was 40 once but now I want to retire and I chose a 55+ community. So now what am I supposed to do. I was lied to by Equity Lifestyle Properties on so many occasions and I cant just pack up my house and thats why they lie to you before you make your purchase

The fact of the matter is all of their marketing material and online advertising all show that a certain number of their properties including mine are 55+ communities but they are not. This is a violation of 723 statutes referencing transparency and advertising and its a violation of HOPA laws under HUD
