Mobile Homeowners Unite

Equity Lifestyle Properties have been in arbitration with the rent committee from Down Yonder Mobile Home Park in Largo Florida since January. They proposed a 8 percent increase over last years 3.9 percent and the HOA didn’t agree and filed for arbitration. Its been 3 months since it started but we’ve been forced to pay the proposed amount since January.

The reason for filing for arbitration wasn’t so much about the increase but the increase during a time period when the property owners Equity Lifestyle Properties have done nothing on our property for years and have no feasible reason for another rent increase. They have done nothing in our community except hire a cheaper landscaping service, a new cheaper maintenance man who knows and does nothing, and they unbundled our water from our base rent where its always been included and now they want to double our rent increase from last year. Residents from all over Florida living in Equity Lifestyle Properties mobile home parks say ELS should lower the rent not raise it. They are absantee landlords and we’re not going to stop preaching about them until someone listens.
