March 2023 and I’m looking for a new condo to rent when this super cute house with lots of windows pops up. I love it instantly. It was a mobile home. I’ve never had a desire to live in a mobile park but I thought how bad could it be?

The answer is worse than I could have ever imagined. One could call it an open air prison. The wardens corrupt management and the prison is equity lifestyle management. The management works not to create a harmonious environment but rather a community filled with fear, retaliation and home owners pitted against each other by management.

I am a victim of this. I became a target for Maria Lugo the manager at the park I live in. She made up “rules” then violated me on them. She even violated for things I didn’t do or have. I got written up for an intercom system “ I installed without management approval” the notice stated. This is neither a rule nor true. I never installed an intercom system. I’ve been written up for driveway reflectors and a note. Both of those used as a premise to evict me from my home. Let me be clear, I’ve never missed a rent payment. Never been late with rent. My home beautifully kept, my neighbors like me. It’s management specifically Maria Lugo who doesn’t. One day last June she decided to call me a name to her maintenance man at the time. He showed me the message as she constantly harassed him while he was working, telling a homeowner once she “didn’t like his face”. 

When I wrote her an asked why she was calling me anything but my given name she informed me she would get the attorney’s on me. A week later I had a notice to cure, a week after than two more notices to cure and week after that an eviction notice. Management would not speak to me. Would not look at evidence. They had their mind set on evicting me as Maria Lugos former assistant would inform later about. She told me it was their plan to evict me and may God stop their plans. 
God did just this!!! For over almost a year it was a full time job to learn the 723 mobile home act. To research my rights. To call and write everyone in hopes someone would see the insanity and help. Not just me but so many in the same situation. Help did not come and I hit many dead ends or “I wish I could help” so I’ve made it a mission not only to beat my eviction, to which I did but to expose them and their mistreatment of homeowners and elders. In many cases elder abuse applies, from my perspective.

Doug Jeffries regional manager told me he was informed not to speak to me and that “person to person” I should get an attorney.

I did and one of the best attorneys ever. We won the case. Ahhhh but Maria Lugo, Doug Jeffries and ELS wasted no time retaliating. Maria Lugo is a pathological liar. Her emails alone show these discrepancies with her and her lies. Within a week of winning my eviction Maria Lugo responded in an email saying I was verbally harassing her and that management would stop speaking to me. I screenshot the emails and return them to her with a statement your lying and apparently trying to set me up again.

fast forward a week and she has now approached my next door neighbor to which for two years never had a problem with. Maria Lugo created a problem. As video evidence shows Maria Lugo pulled up in the golf cart. My next-door neighbor came out and said hey haven’t seen you in a long time. Maria Lugo told her to get in as there was too many cameras five minutes later she pulls up in front of my neighbors house gets out of the golf cart walks over and tells my neighbor I’m encroaching on my neighbors property. For two year’s I maintained my next-door neighbors property, and I actually have written permission from her to do anything I wanted to do planting maintenance to her property. When I informed Maria Lugo of this, she seemed shocked, then turned around and said well she changed her mind.. to date my next-door neighbor has never said a word to me about it. However, management has shown up at my house at least 10 times now since I’ve won my court case showing up with a tape measure trying to tell me what my property line is, but yet it’s already in the lease and she’s not a surveyor in fact, she showed up multiple times doing this her her maintenance man and my next-door neighbor with a tape measure measuring the property telling me I’m encroaching. The regional manager Doug Jeffries and Maria Lugo now at least once a week do a slow drive by and stop in front of my home. Constantly taking pictures and videos. In fact the regional manager not once but twice came to take pictures of a garden hose. Then they wrote me up for this garden hose claiming I’m encroaching on my neighbor and that I installed the garden hose holder on my neighbors property. Well the holder has been here at least 30yts and the garden hoses I received a notice to cure for are not mine and in fact my neighbors. But somehow a regional manager found this to be important enough twice to take time out to come and take a picture of. This right here exemplifies just a fraction of the retaliation.
In an email, Maria Lugo told me she was coming back again to measure my property . No one else in the parks just mine.

I informed her per Florida statute she had to give me a date and time that we agree on or she couldn’t come on my property. She showed up the next day when she tried to step foot on my property, I told her she wasn’t able to for the reasons listed. She turned around and called the police and told him I was harassing her. The police then came to my property physically assaulted me violated my constitutional no trespass, sign multiple times and harassed me for approximately two hours. All of this is retaliation by management and ELS. This is just a small fraction of what takes place. I’m one person in many many parks and I’m not the only one that happens to.

Equity Lifestyle Management claims they do not encourage retaliation through management, but that’s a complete lie. They do in fact encourage this behavior and reward it.

A former manager here at the part quit because of ALS is tactics because he was a man of morals and character.

if you speak back to management, if you call them out on their bullshit, you will become a target of equity lifestyle management, and their managers. Thousands of people stating the same thing over and over again hold truth.

the truth is equity lifestyle management and their parks could and should be compared living in an open prison, do anything, speak up and you have a threat of eviction. In fact we receive several mass audio calls constantly with threats of eviction. Have a drink at the pool you’re gonna be evicted is just one example. The reality is if there’s a violation of an actual rule, not one made up by management a notice to cure is issued and then and only then if it’s repeated can an eviction process be started. This is what this corrupt company does. Violate as many home owners on nonsense to keep them scared and inline.

A lot of people in these parks don’t have the means to protect themselves and some just don’t have it intellectually to know even where to start so they become victims. I’m not a victim you push me and I’m gonna push back. This is my pushback exposing equity lifestyle management they’re open their prisons they call Mobile Home parks and the corrupt management that takes place within them.
