Mobile Homeowners in Fort Meyers, North Fort Meyers and surrounding areas say landlord Equity Lifestyle Properties have done nothing for residents a year and a half after Ian

Residents of Fort Meyers and North Fort Meyers waiting for over a year now for landlords ELS to make the repairs left behind by hurricane Ian. Mobile homeowners from Buccaneer Estates say their community is advertised as a gated community yet gates have been inoperable for well over a year. As damage from Ian still lingers in their community. Residents say the 250 new homes spots they are adding continues to move forward at a feverish pace. Nancy Brice says the construction trucks fly through here at 40 miles an hour leaving huge dust clouds behind them. They damage stop signs and water lines and we constantly get Boil Water notices because the town has to test the water 3 times without any bacteria in order for us to use it again and this takes a week. Weve had these notices several times a month. Damage left behind from Ian is easy to see once your on the property along with broken icemakers and kitchen equipment thats been like this for a year now. There is zero guest parking due to trailers being in the lot that are used for the office since office was damaged In hurricane.

Pine lakes residents who wish to remain anonymous due to management retaliation say the pool and hot tub have been out of order for well over a year. We have gone through 3 park managers in two years and 3 golf pros have left in one year and Regional management is MIA. We pay large amounts of money to Equity Lifestyle Properties and this is how we are treated.

Residents of Lake Fairways have similar complaints but add they believe there are felons and thieves on property since so many residents have been robbed and sheriff there every day. They say the water smell is horrible and their pool has also been down for a year. Clubhouse roof has been leaking for months and they put trash cans under the leaks during an event. Residents claim HOA at Fairway has been put in place by Equity Lifestyle Properties to hush the residents although I have not been able to verify this, they say their voice goes unheard. As a resident of an Equity Lifestyle Properties in Largo Florida I definitely can relate to this since I ran for a hoa board position myself and was stonewalled by a board that was in place for years and I myself have experienced management retaliation which is one of the reasons I started this journey.

Tropical Palms another Equity Lifestyle Property say water is constantly being shut down due to the deteriorating infrastructure and constant water main breaks. This has been going on for 8 years and the only thing that they are good at doing is raising the rents. Gate has been out of order for a year and a half and during heavy rain and flooding raw sewage is seen leaking from an under sized sewage lift system.

Equity Lifestyle Properties have been violating basic civil rights of their residents since they purchased these properties from the previous owners and now we will hold them accountable. We will be be the thorn in their side they wished would go away and they will be forced to make the changes that residents are entitled to.

Mobile Homeowners Unite. Org has filed for a 501c3 non profit license and will continue to call this company out on every platform possible, so stay tuned , stay vigilant, and dont be afraid to speak out.

  5. I have lived in Buccaneer Estates for six years now, and it stained major damage to the exterior of my home, and gotten severely gouged bids, which I cannot afford to proceed with. I have never had a violation and never have been late a day for the lot rent, which is almost $1000 a month now very similar to the other parks we have no gate, the spas, broken, the pool lights out, the office is gone, no fitness center, but they are putting notices on everyone’s homes saying they’re gonna start buying us and if we don’t pay the fines and get the homes fixed, they’re gonna start evictions so basically they’re gonna try and take our homes from us . I’m am trying to find an agency to help the hundreds of ppl it’s effecting with out much luck .
